Let’s talk about access: As a substitute teacher, I’m used to checking ID and ensuring I have the proper clearance to get into campuses. No biggie. Gotta keep the kids safe. But something about the other day was different. I checked in to my substitute assignment like always and turned in my car keys to get my access badge and key. The admin’s words unexpectedly rang through my heart: “Here’s your badge and key. Any door your badge can’t get you through, your key will open.” On the outside, for someone new to that campus, that would seem like routine instructions, but let’s explore three lessons we can learn from her simple statement.
1. Divine Credentials = Favor & Authority
There are places you can just walk in because God has already approved you for them. I had an assignment. As long as I had a badge (my identity), I was approved to go into the campus and carry out whatever instructions the teacher left. Revelation 3:8 says, “See, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut.” God will make room for you in the spaces He’s ordained for you. You don’t have to force your way in. The door will open because you are YOU.
2. Your Key = Supernatural Provision & Strategy
Sometimes, you won’t have immediate access to a place, but God will give you the key you need (wisdom, timing, connections, prayer, strategy) to get in. This key will allow you to unlock doors that your identity does not. Matthew 16:19 says, “I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.” Whether it’s prayer, fasting, divine timing, or whatever else, God will give you the key.
3. The Master Key is in God’s Hands
If it seems you don’t have the favor or the strategy for a situation, remember- God Himself is the Master Key. Isaiah 22:22 says, “...he shall open, and no one shall shut; he shall shut, and no one shall open.” If God wants you in a room, on the table, or in a position, NO ONE can keep you out. Period.
This moment with the admin was NOT as routine as it seemed. It was divine confirmation that you and I already carry divine access, but where favor alone isn’t enough, God has given us keys. So, I have a question for you: What door have you been knocking on?
In this season, God is reminding you that you already have what you need to unlock your next level. Use it! Access granted.
