February is recognized as a month for purification, education, and celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans. As we journey through this month, we embrace its energy of new beginnings, fresh starts, and the opportunity to build our personal relationship with God. Many of us are still fasting, cleansing, and staying active in the gym- because now is the time to cement these changes.

I took this photo while I was at the lake, and in my stillness, I realized something important. Despite the broken pieces in front of me, there are many excellent opportunities ahead with my name on them-if only I remain still, optimistic, and focused on what I can control. At that moment, the only thing I could control was a strategic plan to study for the NHA exam. To my mind, ‘I’m not a good test taker,’ so I knew I had to work extra hard to drill the knowledge into my brain.
Even when we feel like there’s not much we can control, understand that you are a child of God, and nothing is too big or small for Him to handle. Keep pressing towards what’s in front of you. Only do what you can, and be such a beast at it that when the time comes, you’ll get what is rightfully meant for you.
Building a life you’re proud of begins with not giving up on yourself and having the courage to take that leap of faith confidently. Here’s the uncomfortable truth: no matter how things may appear in the natural realm, you must keep going. Your Heavenly Father hears you, which is reason enough to see this through. We Got This!
Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always (1 Chronicles 16:11).
Prayer: Dear God, I submit my will, heart, and mind to you. Give me a clear understanding of Your plan for me. Help me to stay close to You no matter what, not dwelling on the past but pressing forward to what You have planned for me.
